Electrical Engineer Internship

RCT Systems, Power Systems Division, is seeking highly qualified Electrical Engineering interns to join our team for the summer. Engineering interns will focus on one of several different areas including:
+ Develop computer software HMI for testing of power converters.
+ Design and test DSP based digital control algorithms, FPGA supported modulators, and PLC based high-level system controllers
+ Detailed PCB designs including system control PCBs and support hardware
+ Design embedded control algorithms, software PLLs, and other embedded control algorithms
+ Develop Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop test setups, control cards, and control algorithms using Typhoon and MyWay PE-expert RT hardware
+ Testing of MV magnetic components (inductors, transformers)
+ United States Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions
+ >3.3 GPA
+ 3rd year undergraduate minimum, MS and PhD students a plus
+ Experience implementing communication interface (CAN, RS485, Modbus, I2C, high speed fiber, others)
+ Experience applying embedded software for motor drives, ac-dc, dc-dc, and dc-ac converters
+ Experience programming various microcontrollers, DSP, and/or FPGAs
+ Hand-on experience with OPAL-RT, Typhoon, or other HIL platforms
+ Experience with TI C2000 DSPs
+ Experience with PCB design software such as Altium
RCT Systems PSD offers competitive pay, a face-paced R&D work environment, and an active location (Baltimore, MD) close to Washington DC, Philadelphia PA, and Pittsburg PA. The internship is in-person only (no remote work), and located at our offices in Baltimore, MD.
