RCT Systems, Power Systems Division, is seeking a highly motivated Electro-Mechanical Technician to perform technical setup, assembly, fabrication, and configuration of power system components and/or industrial electronics in support of multiple programs. 

Skills required include but are not limited to:  

+ Standard shop skills
+ Ability to work with raw materials
+ Strong understanding of hand and electrical tools
+ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
+ Ability to work independently based on priority and as a team.

More specifically, this role will include:

+ Perform assembly, manufacturing, and fabrication activities on the floor, ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks.

+ Assist Operations and Engineering teams by providing hands-on support for build packages and contributing to updates of Technical Data Packages as needed.

+ Assembly of components, line replaceable units, power and control into cabinets, and other support hardware for a large power conversion application, energy storage systems, and commercial/industrial electronics.

+ Supporting the testing of large power conversion and/or energy storage systems. 

+Perform and/or support field installations and troubleshooting.

+ At least 5 years of hands-on hardware build and test experience.

+ Experience working with large energy storage systems a plus.

+ Working knowledge of PLC systems a plus.

+ Past military experience (veteran) a plus.

+ United States Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions.

Duties & Resposibilities

+ Technical Proficiency: Read, understand, and execute instructions and procedures from work orders. Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, electrical schematics, and wire tabs effectively. Experience with various voltage power applications and solutions is essential (MV experience is a plus).

+ Mechanical/Electrical Aptitude: Assemble, install, and wire electronic components, including small boards, converters, and large systems, following technical schematics and diagrams. Demonstrate proficiency in assembling mechanical and electrical subassemblies and components.

+ Tool Proficiency: Show strong understanding and proper use of hand and electrical tools, along with any special tooling required for the task.

+ Fabrication: Work with raw materials such as aluminum or steel to fabricate and assemble subassemblies, or make limited in-house modifications as needed.

+ Conduct functional testing and calibration of electronic systems to ensure proper operation and adherence to specifications.

+ Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot issues in circuitry and components.

+ Perform inspections at various stages of the assembly process to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.

+ Document and report defects or inconsistencies and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues.

+ Perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

+ Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime in production.

+ Maintain detailed written and computerized records of work performed, including assembly processes, test results, and maintenance activities.

+ Develop build aids, shop aids, and other documentation from engineering drawings.

+ Work closely with engineers, designers, and other technicians to coordinate efforts and achieve project goals.

+ Provide feedback on design and process improvements to enhance efficiency and product reliability.

+ Exhibit highly skilled written and verbal communication to ensure clear and effective collaboration.

+ Safety-First Mindset: Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards during all stages of assembly and testing, consistently demonstrating a safety-first approach.

+ Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of workplace safety.

+ Engage in continuous learning, showing a willingness to accept feedback and a desire for continuous improvement.

+ Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvements and efficiency gains.

+ Monitor and manage the inventory of tools, components, and materials, ensuring timely availability for ongoing projects.

+ Coordinate with material handling and procurement teams to replenish stock as needed.

+ Assist in the prototyping phase by assembling and testing new designs.

+ Transition prototypes into full-scale production, ensuring all processes are scalable and repeatable.
